Need some Pirate Help! Any East Coast Pirates?

Calling all Pirates

A week from today (well, Sunday, Sept. 4th that is) my friends and I will be biking from Philadelphia to Boston (then back). We are doing the journey on track bikes and basically carrying everything on our backs (as well as some rigged up baskets and bags). Right now the trip is as follows

Sunday morning (Sept, 4th), ride from Philly to NYC (about 125 miles)

Monday (Sept. 5th)– Stay in NYC for a day of rest

Tuesday (Sept. 6th)– Ride from NYC to Connecticut (here is where you guys come in)

Wednesday (Sept. 7th) – CT to Boston

We will stay in Boston for a few days, then make our way back down.

The trip has been calculated using a GPS with all bike routes. The first leg of the journey we will be following the “Philadelphia Bike Club” (they are doing a sponsored ride, we will just be following them since we don’t want to pay).

Right now I am pretty set with places to stay in Boston and some places in NYC… but I have no friends in Connecticut. We will probably be riding near the eastern coast, but if we have a definite place to crash, we can modify our journey. Any pirates in CT willing to let 4 skinny bikers crash on their floor?

We will be logging the journey on our web log.

Also, if anyone wants to ride with us for any part of the journey, or go out for some beer or coffee in any of the towns, please contact me (or post on the site I guess). My email is nocoins3@yahoo.com

Thank you!

HAHA
I'll see you on the Philly NYC leg. I'm doing that ride with BCP (i paid for the ride home)

Be warned. It's not 125 like advertised. It's 144. Not significantly more but not unsubstantial either.

Good luck finding CT peeps to crash with

hmmm.... sooo you are doing the ride eh??? hmmm... so do you think you could hook a brutha up with a cheat sheet of the route? It would be very helpful. I have my friend calling up the BCP to see if they would mind a few "tag a longs" but it would be nice to know their route beforehand.

email me if you can at nocoins3@yahoo.com

yeah, I hooked him up with a place to stay while he was here. A good friend of mine from back home was on tour with him doing projector stuff.

I guess we are looking to stop possibly a little northeast of New Haven? I really dont know CT, but the GPS tells us that that is about halfway. Do you know anyone? We may just need to motel it?

that shit is totally going to harsh your mellow riding with no panniers fixed. at least rig a rack and toss your bag on it. 42x16 or 17 w/two brakes! good luck, y'all are fuckin beasts.

Thanks. Actually 2 of us hooked racks on the backs of the bikes using Pipe clamps. The two other guys are running saddle bags. Most of us are geared around 48x17 fixed with a 48x20 freewheel. Front brakes for 2 of the bikes, 2 can run back brakes.

it might be a nicer ride to pass through long island and take the ferry across the sound in bridgeport or orient point. Theres a long island bike map.

just a recommendation.

ive riden from boston--->nyc twice and the coastline alont route 1 kinda sucks.
