Taxi Driver v. Pedicab Cyclist

Ouch. A round of poor decisions by all.

These two really shouldn't be on the road.

obviously both jerks but I will say, throwing your coffee at someone (something I have wished I could have done many times, but you know, for safety, I dont usually ride with a dang drink in my hand) is a little different than trying to hit someone with your car.

it looks to me like he was just trying to cut him off and when the pedicabbie jumped off his ride, the ride rolled towards the cab and then the cabbie wanted to break the pedicab itself.

then again, it's hard to tell when it's a battle of road-rage between self-entitled williamsburgeois vs impatient cabbie.

Neither of them seemed to be very skilled.

Seriously! Are they fighting or trying to copulate?

Rule 1 of fighting:

Know how to fight.

It does impress me to know that New York traffic is willing to accommodate two guy wrestling in the middle of the street for an extended period. I'm also surprised no one tried to move the pedicab or the taxi out of the way while the lovers were busy.

Right? I drove in the city for a day and everyone seemed to freak if I did less than slam on the gas. I should've just started a fight with my travelling companions in the street, and then it would have been okay!

new yorkers drivers are fucking nuts. even in the quietish areas in brooklyn making a left turn on your bicycle can be something to get a little nervous about, total crazy honkfest.
but yeah, any true new yorker would yield to a guy punching and humping another guy. it's an unspoken understanding.

seriously! Let them honk angrily and holler all they want, while you smile and nod, perhaps a friendly wave. Why get so stressed? If they hit me with their cab, I just start dialing 911.

cabman must be an MMA fan - that was a clean take down, neutralizing pedicab's stand-up game.

but yeah, that was pretty pathetic. and we are somehow surprised by our propensity to war over larger issues.

I should have used the trashcan defense when cabs took me out in the past.

Yanked: http://pirateontwowheels.blogspot.com/2009/10/pedicab-vs-taxicab.html

Stand out moment for me: when the pedicab driver was between the taxi driver and his car. I would have ran and tossed his keys somewhere, or locked them in the car.
